Dermal Fillers

 Try to avoid sun beds, hot shower and saunas for 3-4 days after the procedure.
 Do not consume excessive alcohol for 1-3 days
 Do not do any aerobic exercise for 3-5 days after the procedure
 If you get any bruising do apply HOT compress. For any swelling apply Arnica Gel. Mineral based
make up can be applied immediately after the procedure
 Avoid any blood thinners (e.g. alcohol, aspirin, Vitamin E, some herbal preparations and
supplements) for 2 days prior to and 2 days after treatment. Thin blood results in increased risk
of bruising, so help minimise bruising risk by avoiding anything that can thin your blood.
 If you are prone to cold sores, ask your GP to prescribe zovirax tablets for you, to be taken just
before and for a few days after the procedure.

Anti-wrinkle injections

 Do not lay down 4 hours after the procedure, and try to sleep lying flat in bed the night after the

 Do not have any facial massages, facials or put any excessive pressure to the areas treated for
 1 week after the procedure. This should include avoiding scuba diving or wearing tight fitting
motorbike helmets.
 Try to exercise the muscles treated for 4 hours after the procedure.
 If you get any small bruises do apply ice and arnica cream. Mineral based make up can be
applied immediately after the procedure

 If you bruise easily, you may want to take arnica tablets for 1 day before the procedure and for 5
days afterwards.
 Try to avoid sun beds and saunas for 3-4 days after the procedure.
 In the case of underarm sweating treatment, do not use any deodorant for 24 hours.



Most people are able to continue with normal activities with immediate improvement in their
appearance. Some will have some redness, pin prick marks, and some degree of swelling,
possibly some puckering along the site of the suture, possibly, indentations at the insertion or
exit points. The immediate side effects are expected to settle within 2-3 weeks. For up to a
week after the procedure it may feel tender around the sutures. If necessary, you can take
some simple paracetamol to help with this although most patients do not bother with this
step. You may feel the stitches and the anchoring cones beneath your skin especially when
you apply your skincare products or make up, although you should not be able to see them.
 Sleep on your back for 5-7 nights
 Make-up should not be worn for 12 hours
 No facials or facial massage for 10 days
 No extreme facial expressions for 2 weeks
 Application of anti-biotic cream as advised
 To attend a review appointment as advised.
 Tto avoid alcohol, vigorous exercise, sun bathing, and extremes of heat or cold for 14
days post treatment. These activities have been found to increase and prolong swelling.
 Swelling may worsen in the first 24 hours, and then should settle within 3-7 days. Cold
packs can be helpful in reducing swelling.
 Bruising may take a few days to appear, arnica can be helpful in clearing bruising. It is
advisable to avoid aspirin and alcohol for 24-48 hours after treatment.
 Tenderness should settle as swelling goes down. Immediately following the procedure,
the most commonly reported temporary side effects are redness, swelling, bruising,
tenderness, tingling, numbness, lumpiness, and/or a feeling of pressure or fullness at
the injection sites and/or in the treated area(s). Cold gel packs/ice may be applied
immediately after treatment to reduce swelling.
